Probing loop quantum gravity with evaporating black holes.
This Letter aims at showing that the observation of evaporating black holes should allow the usual Hawking behavior to be distinguished from loop quantum gravity (LQG) expectations. We present a full Monte Carlo simulation of the evaporation in LQG and statistical tests that discriminate between competing models. We conclude that contrarily to what was commonly thought, the discreteness of the ...
متن کاملEvaporating loop quantum black hole
In this paper we obtain the black hole metric from a semiclassical analysis of loop quantum black hole. Our solution and the Schwarzschild one tend to match well at large distances from Planck region. In r = 0 the semiclassical metric is regular and singularity free in contrast to the classical one. By using the new metric we calculate the Hawking temperature and the entropy. For the entropy we...
متن کاملQuantum Evaporating Black Holes in Higher Dimensions
We study an N +1 dimensional generalization of the Schwarzschild black hole from the quantum mechanical viewpoint. It is shown that the mass loss rate of this higher dimensional black hole due to the black hole radiation is proportional to 1 rN−1 where r is the radial coordinate. This fact implies that except in four dimensions the quantum formalism developed in this letter gives a different re...
متن کاملProbing quantum gravity effects in black holes at LHC
We study modifications of the Hawking emission in the evaporation of miniature black holes possibly produced in accelerators when their mass approaches the fundamental scale of gravity, set to 1TeV according to some extra dimension models. Back-reaction and quantum gravity corrections are modelled by employing modified relations between the black hole mass and temperature. We release the assump...
متن کاملLoop Quantum Gravity and Black
I summarize the basic ideas and formalism of loop quantum gravity. I illustrate the results on the discrete aspects of quantum geometry and two applications of these results to black hole physics. In particular, I discuss in detail the derivation of the Bekenstein-Hawking formula for the entropy of a black hole from rst principles.
